Simon Turpin is the executive director and speaker for Answers in Genesis–UK/Europe. He is excited about the opportunity the Lord has opened for him with AiG–UK in spreading the importance of creation apologetics, biblical authority, and the gospel. He holds a BA in biblical and intercultural studies and an MA in theology.
Since 2015, Simon has spoken at churches across the UK, the Republic of Ireland, Spain, and Russia on creation apologetics. He is married to Jessica, and together they home educate their seven children.
Emma and her husband live near Edinburgh, she is a mother of 7 ranging in ages from 20 to 3 years old. They have home educated for over 15 years. As well as home educating her children, Emma is co-founder of Arise Home Education, enabling her to partner with other home educators as they navigate the teen years of education. In her spare time, she loves reading, walking in nature with her children, and wild swimming, all with a cup of tea close at hand.
Simon and Jessica are Christians from the UK who have chosen to home educate our children. We have seven children (including two sets of twins!) and we use the Christian classical method. Several years ago we wrote a booklet entitled ‘Leading Them Out: Why Christian Education Matters’ to encourage parents to consider giving their children a Christian education. Since then, we have been writing articles to help Christians respond to some of the strawmen arguments against Christian home education, as well as to encourage families to stay the course.
Charles and Ruth have home educated their 7 children since they took the older twins out of play group at the age of 3 (21 years ago!). They have been members of CHESS throughout that time and valued the friendships and support they have found for the whole family especially through the annual holiday.
After studying natural sciences and theology Charles spent a number of years as a Vicar in the Church of England and then worked with vulnerable people and in social services.
Charles now shares the leadership of a small inner urban church in Bradford, and he and Ruth contributed a chapter to Another Way to Learn.
With a 3D Design degree under his belt and a solid 6 years of experience in Product Design in the industry Mark started his path as a D&T teacher, the curriculum of which taught teach children how to tackle real-life problems. He spent a good 16 years teaching and leading a Design Team for 5 of those years across 3 state schools.
Back in 2012, Mark and Bev started Time & Space Learning, aiming to provide for school kids who needed an alternative learning environment and strategy.
Since then, Mark’s been cooking up all sorts of cool projects and strategies at T&SL, giving kids the chance to spread their wings in ways that goes beyond a traditional classroom setting.
